Celebrating Another Saratoga Summer

As the 2026 Saratoga racing season comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on another unforgettable summer in Saratoga Springs.

There’s truly nothing quite like summer here. The energy of the Saratoga Race Course, the excitement on Broadway, familiar faces stopping in to say hello, visitors discovering Saratoga for the first time, and our community coming together for another incredible season—it’s what makes this place so special.

At Lifestyles of Saratoga, we feel incredibly lucky to be a small part of it all.

To our loyal locals, our summer visitors, our customers who make Lifestyles part of their Saratoga traditions, and our incredible team who brings so much heart to the store every single day: Thank you.

A Summer Worth Celebrating

This season brought so many memorable moments, but one we’ll be talking about for a long time was being named a winner of the 2026 Belmont on Broadway Window Decorating Contest!

Hosted by the Saratoga Springs Downtown Business Alliance, the annual contest celebrates the creativity, personality, and community spirit that make downtown Saratoga Springs so unique.

This year’s theme, “A Saratoga Summer,” couldn’t have been more fitting—celebrating everything from racing and the arts to local restaurants, boutiques, parks, and the unmistakable energy that takes over our city each summer.

For our window, we wanted to create something that celebrated not only the racetracks themselves, but also the people and stories that have made Saratoga and Belmont legendary. We were even lucky enough to welcome a few special guests who stopped to pose with our display, including Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports; Jack Carpenter and Taylor Rao of Two Buttons Deep and The Buttonista; and Hall of Fame jockey Ramón Domínguez.

 

The Grandstand: Saratoga vs. Belmont

Our winning display, The Grandstand: Saratoga vs. Belmont, was inspired by the history, personalities, rivalries, triumphs, and unforgettable moments that have shaped racing through the years.

On one side, Saratoga was represented by its historic Victorian grandstand—a nod to the tradition, nostalgia, and summer magic we all know and love.

On the other, Belmont was reimagined with a sleek, modern structure representing the evolution and future of the sport.

Connecting the two was a sweeping racetrack arch, symbolically bringing together past and present.

But the true heart of the display was its cast of racing legends, each one hand-drawn by our very own merchandising extraordinaire, Isabella.

Founders, jockeys, trainers, announcers, media personalities, champion horses, and other familiar faces were incorporated throughout the window, inviting everyone walking down Broadway to stop for a closer look.

Can You Guess Who’s Who?

We also wanted the window to be more than something you simply looked at.

Our “Can You Guess Who’s Who?” challenged racing fans, Saratoga regulars, and curious visitors to test their knowledge and discover some of the people who have helped shape the sport.

Some were easy to spot. Others required a little more racing knowledge.

What we loved most was seeing the conversations it sparked—people stopping together, pointing out familiar faces, sharing stories, and introducing a new generation to some of racing’s greats.

And Yes… We Brought Home the Trophy 🏆

Being named a winner was such an exciting moment, and we’re incredibly proud to have the trophy here at Lifestyles of Saratoga.

But as another racing season comes to an end, the trophy feels like a reminder of something even bigger.

What makes Saratoga so special has always been its people.

It’s the local businesses cheering each other on. The customers who return year after year. The visitors who fall in love with this town. The traditions passed from one generation to the next. And the incredible teams working behind the scenes all summer long to make Saratoga feel like Saratoga.

We’re so grateful to be part of this community and to have had another wonderful summer alongside all of you.
