Our Guide to the Brimfield Antique Flea Market
Wow! We found so many fabulous treasures at the Brimfield Antique Flea Market in Massachusetts. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement, and we loved chatting with the friendly vendors while discovering one-of-a-kind finds.
For those who haven't been, the Brimfield Antique Flea Market is held three times a year and is considered the oldest outdoor antiques events running for over 50 years. It's one of our favorite places to source furnishings for our store displays.
Thinking of taking your own trip to Brimfield? Read on for our top tips on having the best visit ever...
1. Arrive early.
Serious flea market and estate shoppers know; this is rule number one. By arriving early, you'll have the best selection and won't miss out on a gem.
2. Come prepared.
Make sure to pack a lightweight tote with all of the day's essentials. Our must-haves are snacks, water, cash, a tape measure, hand sanitizer, and sunscreen.
3. Measure before you arrive.
Are you on the hunt for a table in your entryway? Measure the space in advance. In fact, measure all the potential areas in your home that might need an antique find.
4. Negotiate in a friendly way.
Don't be afraid to negotiate. It's part of the fun! We recommend asking, "What's your best price?" It's a polite way to ask for a deal.
5. Don't judge a book by its cover.
Always be on the lookout for those diamonds in the rough. You'll be amazed by what a new coat of paint or a nice scrub can do.
